As a key member of the Product team, you’ll help develop and scale Back Market in all countries (France, Spain, Germany, Italy and Belgium so far, many more countries to come). Based in our Paris office, you’ll work closely with our technical, marketing and senior management teams, a group of passionate professionals who are dedicated to making sure our products and the Back Market brand stand out.

Reporting to our Chief Technical Officer – who happens to be one of our 3 co-founders – and with a dotted line to our Chief Operating Officer, your duties will include:

• Build Back Market Product vision – you are the very first member of the Product team, super key as we need to go fast and be efficient to support our strong growth (from 1 country and 3.5M€, to 5 countries and more than 28M€ in a year with highly ambitious targets in the coming months/years)
• Act as a central pivot for the business and work closely with all teams (marketing, business development, brand mainly) to understand short, mid and long term priorities and execute the vision for your Product roadmap
• Own Product roadmap: create, maintain and project manage a prioritized list of developments/features (Product Backlog) – while we grow, there is a great chance you’ll participate in building a Project Management team that you’ll have under you direct supervision
• Write technical specifications and be highly proactive in defining user stories, evaluating feature requests, benchmarking competitors to participate in UX design and innovation best practices
• Participate in sprint planning meetings as well as sprint reviews and retrospectives – it is necessary to understand what went well and what could be improved in our methodology to become more and more efficient
• Lead release planning for product functionality, adjusting priorities as needed, communicate changes, work with development team to meet quality standards and delivery dates
• Lead QA to ensure features are built accordingly to initial requirements and rollout can be done smoothly
• Communicate risks and impacts of proposed changes and manage issue escalation as well as resolution items in a professional and timely manner
• Create and regularly update Product Documentation for internal knowledge and ensure all departments fully understand our Product
• Scaling will be essential, which should be done by both constant and controlled testing/optimisations as well as more broadly through on-going innovation and development of new ideas
• Build KPI and reporting to measure features efficiency and propose recommendations

• A proven history of Product Ownership experience, with a strong background in ecommerce – 3-5 years in Product or Project Management
• Entrepreneurial mind is key, you are open-minded and always eager to exceed expectations
• English is a no brainer, we are an international team
• Scrum or Agile training knowledge required and capacity to efficiently organize development sprints
• Technical background with a first experience in technical development is a plus
• Strong interpersonal skills for ensuring excellent team relationships to get the best out of everyone we work with
