The position

Job description

As a key member of the marketing team, you’ll help develop and scale Back Market worldwide (France, Germany, Spain, Italy, Belgium as of today – many more countries to come). The SIte Merchandiser is ultimately responsible for developing and implementing strategies to drive sales for all product categories. You will use consumer and competitive intelligence and insights to collaboratively develop methods to build onsite conversion rates, page views per visitor, average order value and quantity per order. This role will involve working on onsite campaigns and optimizations as well as day to day tactics to improve each key performance indicator.

Based in our Paris office, you’ll work closely with our commercial and technical teams, a group of passionate professionals who are dedicated to making sure our products and the Back Market brand stand out.

Reporting directly to our Head of Marketing, your duties will include:

  • Thorough analysis of user/consumer journey and behaviors
  • Ensure product range (width & depth) is both consistent and relevant depending on seasonality and business needs
  • Manage onsite product and category display (navigation bar, home page, landing pages etc.) to constantly optimize sales and conversion
  • Select relevant products for acquisition campaigns based on targets and audience typology
  • Define, test and roll out product recommendation tactics (cross/up selling)
  • Work closely with business development team to better accompany our industrial partners in their sourcing and pricing processes

Preferred experience

  • E-commerce merchandising experience with responsibility for successfully optimizing site(s) including understanding consumer insights, competitive reviews and promotional planning
  • Analytical skills to gain insights into what products and categories to promote, as well as performance reporting
  • Ability to analyze both quantitative and qualitative data
  • Excellent Excel and Data Analysis skills (Google Analytics)
  • Commercial awareness – understanding and knowledge of our product categories and competitors
  • Ability to work under pressure and in a highly fast paced environment
  • Entrepreneurial mind is key, you are open-minded and always eager to exceed expectations
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, follow-up and creative thinking-skills
  • Must be hands-on with high level of energy and professional skills to function effectively and independently in a demanding and change-oriented environment
  • Fluent in English and French - both written and verbal - is essential
