🌱At Ekimetrics, we have the ambition to help our clients rethink their business models by reconciling economic, environmental and social performance through data science.

That's why we have all the necessary skills in-house to meet the needs of our clients, including Product Managers, Product Designers, Data Architects, Data Engineers, DevOps Engineers and Data Scientists.

About the role

We are currently on the lookout for a People & Talent Manager to join our Hong Kong office, to take care of our teams in Hong Kong and in our brand-new office in Shanghai. We are 40 people in Hong Kong and plan to have 30 people as well in Shanghai within 3 years. We are in an exciting growth period!

You will have 3 main focuses in this role:

·         Attracting top talents

We are growing rapidly and so you will be critical to our recruitment strategy by partnering with the Hong Kong Managing Director and the leadership team to construct our headcount plan, define the best sourcing strategy and support the team to animate the recruitment process. You will manage Ekimetrics employer brand strategy and actions in HK as well as our school relationships.

·         Engaging top talent

Once they are onboard, you will be supporting our team on their Eki journey, be it through career development, wellbeing, engaging & guiding our management team in their role as people managers, performance reviews, or Eki life and culture activities.

·         Professionalizing HR operations

This means getting the basics right, ensuring we are compliant and following best practices with regards to the People function, employment law, and our policies, and giving our team a frictionless experience with HR elements.

In other words, you are key to making sure Ekimetrics is a great place to work by being involved in a consultant’s full employee lifecycle, from the day they apply for a role with us through to the day they decide to leave.

This will require you to think strategically about complex people topics that need savvy approaches but also be ready to roll-up your sleeves to get the work done well.

You will report directly to the Managing Director of the office and our HR Director. You will partner closely with the global HR team to understand what the Hong Kong and Shanghai teams need, what is already in place for you to use, and what can be extended to the other Eki entities.

Your responsibilities

Talent Acquisition

·         Leading recruitment activities in Hong Kong and Shanghai and working with our global recruitment team and hiring managers to find the right people.

·         Prioritizing candidate experience – even if they aren’t successful, they’ve been able to learn throughout and enjoy the process.

·         Work with the Uni Links lead in the HK team to animate our local university relationships and engage future talent.

·         Implement new and exciting ways to improve our employer brand and attract talented Data Scientists and Data Engineers!

Onboarding & integration

·         Ensure a great experience for new employees and guarantee a proper integration, e.g. engage prior to day one, organize first day, introduce to the team, follow up on integration process and probation periods, etc.

Learning & Career Development

·         In partnership with our global Eki.Academy team (our L&D function), you will lead local engagement initiatives that champion a high-performance culture which supports our mission and business objectives.

·         Work with our managers to ensure that they can develop their teams and help them progress their careers along the Consultant pathway.

Employee Experience & Daily HR

·         Ensure an excellent employee experience at every touch point in the lifecycle by answering daily HR questions and requests.

·         Manage annual employee engagement activities.

·         Manage HR system, right to work actions, T&C changes, and employee benefits schemes.

About You

We are looking for someone who has existing experience in HR & recruitment, be it in a large HR team where you are ready to take on a more autonomous, independent role, or in a similar work environment and looking for new experiences!

Even though you might not have experience in a data science setting, you are inquisitive and want to learn so that you can really make a difference to life at Ekimetrics. You are not only looking to have an impact from a strategic and creative perspective, but you are someone who gets things done. You are proactive and love to get stuck in, working with our team to make this the best place to work.

Communication is key – especially in this hybrid working world – and you are comfortable challenging and developing senior members of the team, too.

Ideally, you have:

·         A Master’s degree or equivalent in HR management, as well as an experience of at least 7 years in HR.

·         Experience in in-house recruitment/talent acquisition of high caliber talent.

·         An excellent understanding of employment law.

·         Experience implementing HR best practices and innovation across a range of HR disciplines.

·         Strong communication skills – ability to work alongside the senior management team as well as the wider business.

·         Business level proficiency in English (mandatory) and Chinese (bonus).
