The position

Job description

As a Darewise Senior Character Concept Artist, you will provide concept designs and compelling illustrations to craft new characters, creatures, and items for our ambitious and ground-breaking new project.

Responsibilities:

  • Concepting (Researching, Designing and Illustrating) All aspects of character design, including forms, stylization, clothing, gear and associated items.
  • Work closely with Art Director and team to carry out the aesthetic vision for the game.
  • Participation in iterative development and critical feedback loop with the entire game development team, including regular gameplay tests.
  • Maintaining a high bar for excellence in processes, projects, deliverables, and communication.

Preferred experience

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years Game development or entertainment industry experience designing and illustrating World-Class content or AAA characters and creatures in a Concept Artist role.
  • Amazing character and creature designer with a diverse and high-quality professional portfolio.
  • Strong traditional art training and background in painting, illustration and character design.
  • Strong skill in research, brainstorming, design ideation, and presentation.
  • Positive, collaborative and professional attitude while working under multiple deadlines.
  • Strong English and communication skills, comfortable working with non-technical people and remote teams.
  • Based in or willing to relocate to Paris, France.

Also nice to have:

  • Experience with 3D character creation pipeline and modular character design.
  • Experience with open-ended/sandbox multiplayer games.
  • Personal interest in fiction, literature, history and technology.
