The position

Job description

As part of the product/tech team, you will work closely with all members (CTO, Head of Product, Designers & Developers) to help buid a great product at a European scale. You will contribute to the overall sucess through 2 ways :

  • Helping your teammates continuously improve their productivity, code quality and work satisfaction
  • Directly contributing to the codebase on a regular basis

Your main responsibilites will include :

Technical Leadership

  • Broaden the technical capabilities of your teammates by transferring knowledge through code reviews and peer coding sessions
  • Develop an engineering culture that fosters collaboration, continuous learning and code quality
  • Make sure knowledge of critical systems is distributed across the team
  • Remove technical roadbloacks that prevent your teammates from being successful
  • Anticipate areas of concern and make sure they are addressed before they become a problem

Individual contribution

  • Address technical issues early to ensure a smooth scaling
  • Contribute to the codebase on a daily basis
  • Help your teammates on difficult architectural challenges or code design

Project Management

  • Educate Product Managers on technical issues and necessary refactoring so they can make informed decisions
  • Suggest solutions that would be technically easier to implement when necessary
  • Find the right balance between doing it right and getting it done

Preferred experience

There is a good chance that you fit the role if you cover most of the following :

  • You have been in a tech lead position for a few years or have at least 5+ years experience as a full-stack developer in a post-series A startup
  • You demonstrate an excellent ability to explain difficult concepts
  • You have evidence to show that you are a great coach
  • You demonstrate technical excellence on our core technology (Rails)
  • You have strong leadership abilities
  • You have strong communication abilities
  • You are a pragmatic doer with a strong set of technical skills
