Vulog is seeking a talented Mapping & Data Trainee for 6 months.
Reporting to the Lead Architect / Data Analyst, you will work closely with the Sales and Marketing team
The internship is based in Paris.

This internship is for someone who has strong interest in data analytics, appetite for Big Data crunching and BI, as well as a passion for technologies. On a daily basis, you will:
● Capture and analyze client requirements, working as part of a data science team
● Build compelling data visualizations (especially on maps) that can be easily understood
● Perform data analysis geared toward identifying areas for improvement
● Drive the collection of new data that would help to build next generation of algorithms
● Ensure the reliability and relevance of the process, follow-up analysis on projects
● Exploring and analyzing data and feedback to identify opportunities for improvement

● You have / are currently enrolled in a course of studies towards a Master’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Math, Finance or similar disciplines (background in Machine Learning is a plus)
● Knowledge of/experience with some of the following is a big plus: Object Oriented Design, Algorithms, Statistics, Databases (MySQL, Hadoop, Oracle, etc), Data Visualization (Tableau, D3.js, etc), Data Manipulation and Exploration, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, NLP, Bots, etc., as well as programing languages (ideally including SQL, Java, Python and/or R).
● You are comfortable with manipulation and analysis of complex, high volume, high dimensional data from varying sources
● You have solid experience with Data Visualization & Mapping Tools (ex. Mapbox)
● You have a strong intellectual curiosity and ability to structure and solve difficult problems
● You are able to communicate complex quantitative analysis in a clear, precise and actionable manner
● You have a good level in English (both spoken and written). French is a plus!
