About the job

The Serverless Database team is building a pay-per-use SQL Database product integrated into Scaleway’s ecosystem.

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will be in charge of leading your teammates to achieve a high-quality, high-impact, product.

You will be responsible for mentoring your teammates to develop, operate, and optimize the product.

You will also play a key part in designing the technical stack design and managing the product backlog.

Minimum qualifications

  • Excellent experience in backend development
  • Ability to identify the right design/coding pattern for a given problem
  • Good soft skills and mindset
  • Quick learner
  • Very good command of English (French is a big plus)

    • Preferred qualifications

  • Experience with typical DevOps tooling: Git, CI/CD, containers, etc.
  • Knowledge of open-source relational databases: PostgreSQL, MySQL, …
  • Fluent with team tools: GitHub/GitLab, Jira, Slack, etc.
  • Excellent knowledge of microservices and cloud patterns (K8s is a plus)
  • Familiarity with quality enhancers: unit/end-to-end testing and documentation
  • Good sysadmin and network knowledge

  • Contribute to the product architecture and code base
  • Define the right quality standards for each step of a product’s life cycle 
  • Mentor your teammates to help them improve their skills
  • Partner with the Engineering Manager to translate product needs into a backlog
