Smart’s software engineers develop the next-generation technologies that empower our customers to reach their digital business goals. They grow in a demanding environment that values performance and high-availability: our platform manages over 1 million bid requests per second and our dataset is about 3 petabytes in Hadoop (more than 2TB additional data per day).

Our innovation team based in Paris and Nantes is composed by 70 straightforward and energetic individuals working in an Agile environment and ready to tackle the most complex technical challenges.

Your mission 👇

Site Reliability Engineers make our platforms highly available and robust both at infrastructure and application level.

Reporting directly to our Lead SRE, you will join a team where millisecond matters and will have the opportunity to significantly contribute to the evolution of our production platform and technologies (5 Datacenters, 1 000+ servers).

• Write specifications, implement and maintain back office tools (web API, site administration) in order to monitor evolution in terms of quality of services, software, and systems.
• Optimize and monitor software and network infrastructure across the globe.
• Solve complex problem (monitoring, sharding) regarding the implementation of previous generation architecture, allowing the deployment of advanced business functionalities, essentially based on Linux (Hadoop, Redis, Prometheus, Aerospike, Grafana…)
• Provide technical expertise in order to improve the quality and performance of the architecture (Cloud, Kubernetes, Docker, Ansible), highlighting the outcomes with Key Performance Indicators.

About you 💪

• Master degree in Computer Science or similar technical field of study
• 2+ years of System or Software Engineering experience in a Linux and/or Windows environment ideally in the web industry
• Experience in the administration and smooth scaling of messaging (RabbitMQ) or NoSQL (Hadoop, Redis, Elasticsearch) technologies that support high loads and offer a top quality of service in terms of performance and high-availability
• Interest in new technologies and large-scale technical stakes
• Entrepreneurial spirit and know-how to identify opportunities of improvement with ability to thrive under autonomy in a fast-paced environment
• Working proficiency and communication skills in verbal and written English
• Side technical projects
