As an IT Security Engineer, you will play a critical role in fortifying our security posture by:
Designing and implementing robust security controls to protect our critical assets and data
Creating innovative solutions to track and manage access to company systems
Leveraging security tools and automation to streamline security processes, enhance detection capabilities and improve continuous security testing
Your main objective is to champion and implement Dfns corporate and operational security by building a comprehensive program that secures the company critical assets and infrastructure.
Your daily tasks will involve:
Build tooling to automatically classify and inventory company assets
Automate routine security tasks to improve efficiency and reduce human error
Implementing robust logging, monitoring and alerting
Analyze security risks and vulnerabilities across the IT infrastructure
Implement and monitor security solutions to protect systems from unauthorized access and potential breaches
Collaborate with the infrastructure team to design and implement secure network architecture
Develop and automate vulnerability scanning processes for cloud infrastructure
Resolving complex issues by identifying root causes and implementing solutions
Collaborating with cross-functional teams to improve software development practices
Contributing to Agile Scrum, ensuring deadlines and production quality
Develop and deliver security awareness training materials for employees at different levels
Ensure that all IT practices comply with regulatory standards. Prepare for audits by maintaining records of IT procedures and compliance measures
Staying updated on emerging technologies and suggesting improvements
5+ years of proven work experience in the technology industry as a system administrator, IT manager or security role.
Strong understanding of security best practices and frameworks (e.g., NIST Cybersecurity Framework)
Experience with security tools and technologies (e.g., vulnerability scanners, firewalls, SIEM systems)
Proficiency in network security concepts (e.g., firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems)
Experience managing user access controls and configurations within a Google Workspace environment using Google Admin
Experience using the Google Workspace security investigation tool to identify, investigate, and remediate security incidents
Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) for automation
Working knowledge of cloud security principles (e.g., AWS Security, Azure Security)
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong work ethic and a proactive approach to security

Title: IT Security Engineer
Salary: €60-80K per year on a full-time permanent work contract.
Equity: 100-300 stock options (0.05-0.15%) vested over 4 years with a one-year cliff.
Location: France or other EU countries (excluding UK, Iceland and Switzerland)
