Within Global Banking, you will join Structured Finance, a successful and highly regarded team in charge of originating and structuring secured financings for HSBC clients (Corporates, Financial Institutions, Asset and Fund Managers,...), mainly Securitisation transactions (private and public, ABS and ABCP) and Fund Financings (Equity Bridge Facility, GP Facility and NAV Facility).

This job will give you the opportunity to work within an experienced team, dynamic and well known in the market: this a chance to acquire and/or develop your financial, legal, corporate finance and modelling skills and gain expertise in financial markets and in the private equity world thanks to the large spectrum of products being offered by Structured Finance and our diverse client base. You will report to a senior Director and will be in contact with the European Team (including colleagues based in London) and with other departments such as Client Coverage, Credit, Legal and Compliance.

What you will do:

The job is based in Paris. You are in charge of (i) assisting with the origination & structuring and (ii) overseeing execution of transactions within the Structured Finance EMEA team.

In your key activities and decision-making areas, you will:

• Work with the SF team to originate new financing and distribution opportunities to HSBC's new and prospective clients.

• Assist with the design of complex asset backed financing structures to meet client needs as well as being capital efficient and managing the bank's risk profile.

• Acquire strong and varied product knowledge across asset classes.

• Assist with the structuring and execution of SF transactions, both on balance sheet transactions and public ABS issuances in conjunction with other internal product partners (such as DCM, Syndicate, Financial Sponsor teams).

• Work with external/internal legal counsels to ensure transaction documentation is in line with agreed structure.

• Work with the SF Portfolio Management function to provide a first line of defence in managing the risk profile of the existing book including maintaining regular dialogue with clients on their business performance and being aware of external factors that can impact our risk profile.

• Gather knowledge and understanding of the regulation that impacts the securitisation market as well as our HSBC internal capital models for SF products.

• Understand, follow and demonstrate compliance with all relevant internal and external rules, regulations and procedures that apply to the conduct of the business.

• Coordinate regular interactions with the client on-boarding teams and be excessively vigilant on potential compliance issues throughout your activity.

Conditions

  • You are a graduate from a top business or engineer school (with finance major) or hold a Master in Finance (Corporate Finance and/or Financial Markets) from a top university.
  • You have a good knowledge of capital market products and financial analysis and/or modelling.
  • You have a taste for delivering high-quality work.
  • You have a strong team spirit with high communication skills.
  • You have a very good command of the MS Office Pack (especially Excel and PowerPoint) and have strong data analysis skills.
  • You are fluent in French and English and ideally have a very good knowledge of another European language.
