As Head of Social Media, you will manage OpenClassrooms’ social media platforms in both English and French. Our current platforms are LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook, as well as our internal student networks. These accounts will promote our social-first content, rich blog posts and videos being created by our content marketing production team, our courses and programs, events, our partnerships and campaigns. In collaboration with all stakeholders you will shape the voice of OC on social to resonate with our growing communities.

You will be asked to create the overarching social media playbook and content calendars across platforms and target markets. Our primary markets are French-speaking and English-speaking. Content must foster community and align with cultural touchpoints for each market.

As Head of Social Media, you will also have to ideate and oversee the production of social-first content from scratch such as Facebook and Instagram stories, Instagram posts, lives and whatever else is part of your strategy.

You must be able to take ownership of all that is social media with a can-do attitude, willingness to collaborate and ability to find solutions in a fast-paced environment. You will be detail-oriented with an emphasis on organization and planning ahead.

Tasks will include but are not limited to:

  • Creating content calendars for each platform in both languages
  • Setting KPI’s and measuring success
  • Writing social posts in French and English
  • Collaborating with our content managers and agencies on content ideas and production
  • Collaborating with our creative director on visuals
  • Finding and managing freelancers to produce social-first content
  • Managing the production of stories and lives and/or creating them yourself
  • Scheduling posts
  • Developing relationships with influencers and thought-leaders in education and OC program-themed fields.
  • Engaging with our online community – responding to comments
  • Attending events and live posting
  • Producing lives

Profil recherché

Competencies Required

The Head of Social Media will need to:

  • Have the ability to develop high-level social media strategy while also delving into the minutia of creation
  • Be an expert across social media channels such as: Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn.
  • Have excellent writing skills and a good visual eye
  • Have the ability to produce highly creative content that engages and resonates
  • Have sensitivity to voice and creating an air authenticity
  • Have the ability to build and manage a team of outside contractors
  • Have the ability to review and track analytics as well as respond to findings
  • Stay up-to-date with current technologies and trends in social media, design tools, and applications
  • Be proficient in Spreadsheets; Google Analytics; G Suite; basic photography and video editing.
  • Have a basic understanding of paid social media management and SEO

Language Requirement

We are very strict about the language requirement for this role. You must have great English and French communication skills, both written and verbal – at least C1 level. We are looking for candidates who have lived in France as well as either the US or the UK. It is important that you demonstrate a familiarity with these cultures as you will need to speak to natives from these cultures through social media.

Desired Education and Experience

  • We are looking for someone who has experience as the Head of Social Media or equivalent role. You will have extensive experience working in a team environment collaborating and interfacing with both internal and external stakeholders. Having worked in a bi-lingual environment (English and French) is a plus.
  • 5 to 7 years of experience in digital and social marketing strategy - agency experience is a serious plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, or a related field; or equivalent work experience
  • Track record of innovation in the social space and demonstrated passion for the role that social can play in an overall marketing & content strategy.

Déroulement des entretiens

The journey starts with a phone interview with Audrey, Talent Acquisition Manager (30 minutes).

For the 1st round of interviews we plan face to face meetings with:

  • 2 Team members of the hiring manager (1 hour)

For the 2nd round of interviews, you plan to:

  • Take a technical assessment (study case) to be done at home or at the office (2 hours)
  • Take an English test to be done at home (at your own pace but before the end of the hiring process)

For the final round, we plan face to face with:

  • Audrey, Talent Acquisition Manager (1 hour)
  • Thomas, VP Communications (1 hour)
  • 2 peers from teams across the organization to discuss about Culture and Values at OpenClassrooms (2 hours)
