Descriptif du poste

The role:

We are looking for a Head of Product Design to own the user experience and design of the platform. You’ll bring our small but steadily growing design team to the next level.

You have the drive and experience to manage a much larger team, and the empathy and vision to inspire and mentor our UX/UI designers, UX researchers, and UX writer. You know how to deliver unity and direction to a team that is brimming with the ideas and energy necessary to raise the bar.

Responsibilities:

  • Advocate for business-wide design thinking.
  • Assign creative leads and organize project teams or squad assignments.
  • Collaborate with product managers and engineers to define the best solutions for the user.
  • Direct, manage, and lead a team of designers, writers, and researchers.
  • Identify business targets, make tactical choices and provide strategic direction.
  • Develop and design concepts and execute creative material as needed.
  • Establish common knowledge of key concepts, strategies, and brand positioning.
  • Conceive a design vision and define the team’s direction, focus, and goals.
  • Manage design processes to ensure timely delivery of prototypes.
  • Proactively seek ways to enhance department productivity.

Profil recherché

Skills and competencies:

  • You possess excellent organisational skills, have a keen eye for detail, are able to communicate effectively orally and in writing, and have in-depth knowledge or experience in the following areas:
  • Designing user-research projects and A/B tests and to make objectively user-centric decisions.
  • Creating visibility for a product design team via articles, podcasts, or conferences.
  • Assembling a complete design system
  • Leading design projects from conception, through iteration, and to completion.
  • Storyboarding or conveying ideas to designers, writers, researchers and other stakeholders.
  • Technical understanding of layouts, graphic fundamentals, typography, and design tools.

Déroulement des entretiens

Hiring process:

  • Get in touch with our CTO over the phone.
  • Discuss your technical skills with the Design Team in our office.
  • Discuss your product design skills with the Product Team in our office.
  • Meet HR and team members from outside the Tech Team (Student Success, Revenue, Marketing, etc.) to learn about our values and our company culture.
  • Meet with our CTO and CPO to understand vision: this is an opportunity for you to understand our upcoming challenges and to ask all the remaining questions you may have.

You will be asked to provide professional references.
