Descriptif du poste

Trainline is in a period of rapid scale with the People Team central to supporting the company’s ambition and growth plans.

If you’re successful in your application, you’ll be joining an enthused and high performing team, one which prides itself on providing stellar service at every stage of the employee life cycle, from on-boarding to off-boarding and everything in between.

We support Trainliners in the UK, and our offices in France, Italy and Spain.

Responsibilities

Reporting into our Senior People Operations Manager, you’ll work on all things HR and payroll, and be responsible for supporting employees across the business and helping to make Trainline a great place to work. You’ll provide high quality support in relation to both core HR and payroll processes and ad-hoc projects and quickly become an integral part of the team and wider business.

Day-to-day, you’ll be responsible for:

  • Maintaining the records held in our HRIS (HiBob) ensuring accuracy and integrity at all times.
  • Working with your colleagues in the People Ops team to monitor our People Mailbox and Slack channel, providing Trainliners with a professional level of assistance and support around HR process and policy, within our internal SLA time frames.
  • Supporting Trainline’s onboarding and induction process including liaising with our Pre-Boarders and Recruiters to ensure that all Background and Right to Work checks are completed in a timely manner.
  • Providing Trainliners with accurate and consistent support with regards to our policies, practices, and processes.
  • Accurately running and processing monthly UK payroll.
  • Supporting People BPs to manage our Absence, Performance Management, Salary Review, Learning & Development, and Employee Engagement processes.
  • Collaborate and support Head of Reward with any cyclical Reward processes including data sharing and employee comms
  • Working closely with our Accounts Payable team to handle and process invoices and POs.
  • Improving, reviewing, and implementing People policies and procedures.
  • Creating and working with weekly/monthly reports to ensure that our people data is consistent and accurate.
  • Champion data, metrics and insights and use HR data to enable the wider team to make value-add decisions
  • Work and lead on Adhoc People Operations projects as required, such as process changes, and system improvements to enhance the employee experience and People Team processes
  • Collaborate with our Finance Team and take the lead with support of colleagues on Audits
  • Provide first line support to People Advisor queries

Profil recherché

We’re looking for a team player with a ‘roll your sleeves up’ attitude. A self-starter with a helpful, people-orientated demeanour and a high degree of integrity and confidentiality, someone itching expand upon their HR and payroll experience. Super-strong organisation and interpersonal skills are essential, and you’ll also bring the ability to work at pace and with agility.

A HR qualification isn’t necessary - as long as you can demonstrate your interest in HR and show a comprehensive understanding of HR processes and policies, we’ll provide you with the necessary professional development to make you an HR superhero.

We are also keen to have someone with some experience in processing payroll as we currently process this in the People Ops team, with our Out-Sourced payroll provider. Someone who is comfortable supporting employees and our Head of Tax on payroll related queries would be hugely beneficial.

This is fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about HR, keen to work in a fast-moving, forward-thinking technology business, and looking to develop their career.

This is a role based in the UK but as we also support offices in France, Spain and Italy so experience of working with employees in these countries would be helpful but is not essential.

Required Skills:

  • Understanding of HR best practices and current regulations.
  • Experience in processing payroll, a working knowledge of payroll processes and calculations, with a basic understanding in UK tax legislation.
  • Excellent judgment and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong knowledge of the hiring process and Right to Work/VISA legislation.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong numeracy skills.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite; word, excel, powerpoint etc.
