Our Product & Tech team is divided into platform squads and product squads. The former builds complex & reusable bricks that the latter can use to build the products .

As a data-oriented product, we ingest and analyse large amounts of data. To make sense of this information, dashboarding is a central feature of our application. Our dashboards can contain maps, tables, various charts, custom components, filters, dozens of data sources, but all this needs to be configurable from a simple JSON file, to enforce the reusability across products or projects. To bridge this gap, we have built a complex framework with several abstraction layers.

To own these central bricks and push them much further, we are currently looking for a Tech Lead for the “Web Platform - Dashboarding” squad. The current roadmap of this squad includes: moving from SVG based to WebGL based mapping technology, implementing the nodes of our design system so that no time is wasted by the devs later on on design discussions, improving the performance of the charting pipelines that handle hundreds of thousands of data points, etc.

At Spinergie, the tech lead job is three-fold:

• Tech
  Along with the other tech leads, you own the decisions with regards to the technical stack which is constantly evolving (code architecture, back & front-end frameworks, CI environment, servers infrastructure, database). You foster our culture of operational performance and technical excellence.

• Management
  You manage a team of 2 to 5 software engineers and you make them shine. You mentor them and foster their technical and professional growth. You run interviews to hire new team members promoting our culture.

• Delivery
  You coordinate with engineering, product and design leads to define a vision and strategy for your team. You drive the delivery to meet business objectives, while keeping time and resources to improve our codebase and make sure we can carry on delivering in the long run.

• Climate change and sustainability matter to you. Greenwashing aside, you know Spinergie won’t suddenly change the world, but you want to participate in the development of the offshore wind industry and the close monitoring of maritime GHG emissions.

• You have strong experience in programming and algorithmics. Mastering the technologies we are using is not an issue, as long as you are willing to learn them.

• You have a track record of taking initiative to improve the team’s working conditions, as well as supporting your teammates and helping them grow.

• You can collaboratively lead the evolution of your team. You have excellent communication skills, which help you diffuse knowledge and align people to work successfully on their projects.

• You are a pragmatic and solution-oriented engineer who is interested in hard problems and delivering value.

• You want to help build an innovative product used by thousands of users and leave your mark on the maritime industry.

• You speak English fluently.
