The position

Job description

We are seeking an exceptional leader to head up our inaugural Project Management Office (PMO) and drive the successful planning and execution of strategic projects for the global Deezer Partnerships organization across the Company. The Head of PMO will establish and oversee project management best practices, tools, and governance to enable our cross-functional teams to deliver projects on-time, on-budget and within scope.

The ideal candidate brings proven experience leading a PMO in a global, tech-oriented organization, with a demonstrated track record of implementing PMO practices that drive operational excellence and a proven track record of driving successful joint GTM launch plans with partners on time and on budget. You are equal parts strategic and execution-focused, with an ability to influence cross-functionally and rally teams around a shared vision. The Partnerships PMO will own go-to-market execution for our joint partner solutions. This role will work hand-in-hand with our internal partnerships teams across new business development, partner management, partner engineering and partner product management as well as our internal cross-functional partners across marketing, sales, editorial, finance and corporate development to shape joint value propositions, deliver compelling narratives, and drive integrated campaigns that generate pipeline and revenue.

As the Head of PMO, you will be a key leader  for the Deezer Partnerships organization. This role is pivotal in enabling us to achieve our strategic objectives and future growth.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Establish and lead the inaugural PMO organization at Deezer, defining the charter, structure, operating model, methodologies, best practices, tools, and governance
  • Manage strategic projects and programs for the Partnerships organization, overseeing portfolio management, prioritization, resource allocation, and cross-functional coordination  
  • Collaborate with Product and GTM teams to provide strategic guidance and support for joint product commercialization, go-to-market strategy, and operations
  • Develop and execute the overarching go-to-market strategy for our partner ecosystem, including joint value propositions, messaging, and integrated campaigns
  • Establish KPIs, metrics, dashboards and reporting cadences to track and optimize PMO and partner GTM performance 
  • Establish a clear and efficient communication mechanism for internal and external partners globally, coordinate projects across systems and departments which may include the need to organize and manage regular business review meetings, all hands and townhalls to improve overall operational efficiency
  • Build and mentor a high-performing team of project managers
  • Manage vendor relationships and collaborate with Finance on PMO budget and resources
  • Serve on the Partnership's executive team, embodying Deezer's values and acting as an ambassador for the organization with our internal stakeholders

Preferred experience

  • 10+ years of project management, program management, product marketing or product management experience, with 3+ years leading teams. 
  • PMO, PM or PMM roles at tech, media, telco or enterprise companies strongly preferred
  • Proven track record of establishing and leading a PMO or GTM planning function in a tech-oriented company, implementing best practices and driving operational excellence
  • Experience working in a business and partnerships organization, with understanding of product development lifecycles from ideation to launch and corresponding go-to-market strategies  
  • Expertise in project management tools (e.g. Asana, JIRA, Confluence), visualization tools (e.g. MIRO, Figma) and familiarity with methodologies (e.g. Agile, Waterfall)
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to navigate and build cross-functional relationships, gain buy-in and influence across the organization to drive change in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong analytical and data-driven problem-solving skills, with proven success driving joint GTM programs with partners
  • Hands-on and willing to roll up sleeves to get the job done
  • Undergraduate degree required, MBA or advanced degree preferred
