Job description

We are looking for motivated, highly-skilled developers to join the core team that maintains the PrestaShop open source project.

Your mission, should you choose to accept it:

  • Help make PrestaShop the best solution for creating an e-commerce site.
  • For that, as a member of the core development team, and surrounded by senior developers, you will work side by side with our product managers, UX Designers, QA analysts, content manager and developer advocate… as well as hundreds of external contributors.
  • As a maintainer of a solution used by hundreds of thousands of merchants and developers around the world, you will be proud of the high quality code you will produce, meaning that it’s readable, maintainable, tested and documented. Your technical choices will impact thousands of people directly, and millions indirectly.

As a Front-End Developer :

  • You will work mainly on the user-facing code of PrestaShop’s, be it the Back Office, the default Front Office theme, or the code on which all themes are based.
  • You will contribute in planning, improving and progressively migrating PrestaShop’s front-end architecture from jQuery and HTML to a rich, VueJS-based application.

Preferred experience

  • You have already used many frameworks in the past, and migrated from Grunt and Gulp to Webpack.
  • You know how to handle large codebases effectively, and you don’t feel that constant urge to refactor all your code using the hip-new-framework-released-yesterday anymore.
  • You want to use your experience to build a long-lasting tool that other developers will use to do their job.
  • You care deeply about UX and releasing stable, rock-solid software.
  • You think before you start writing code
  • You enjoy coding and people recognize you as a good developer
  • You know how to use Git: you can rebase and resolve merge conflicts without any trouble
  • You are a team player, but you don’t fear speaking up to defend your point of view
  • You are comfortable speaking, but especially writing, in English
  • You speak French (not mandatory)
