About the Opportunity

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY:

The Data Governance Specialist works to cleanse global data in the CRM system, ensuring the correct data points are added in order for the business to operate effectively and efficiently. This person will provide Customer Support to the global selling and Sales Operations teams through a ticketing system, handle inquiries or issues relating to inaccuracies in data or the data governance project and strategy, and collaborate with the rest of the CRM Systems team to build ongoing best practices for data management. Ideal candidates have previous experience in analytics, research, database use/management, and data entry. This role works as part of the CRM Systems team and will provide key feedback on data issues in order to improve the quality of one of the company’s greatest assets - our data! Attention to detail and communication skills are essential in this role with focus on quality over quantity. The Data Governance Specialist is expected to maintain knowledge of all Salsify data policies and procedures as they relate to data cleanliness and the overall data strategy.

HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

  • Researching account location information using a variety of databases and searches such as preferred 3rd party data sources, web searches including, but not limited to company website, LinkedIn profiles and business news.
  • Appending all the relevant data points in the CRM system and ensuring accurate territory and user assignment takes place.
  • Managing the internal data support cases in Salesforce, which includes assigning tickets, handling tickets, closing tickets and feeding back key issues to the data strategy team to help improve data and process.
  • Analyzing data as well as our data strategy in order to progress our ability to identify global issues that need to be resolved.
  • Other related duties and responsibilities as directed by the manager.

YOU’LL ENJOY THIS ROLE IF YOU HAVE:

  • 1+ years’ experience working in an office environment or role using research and data entry skills.
  • Degree in Business, Business Analytics, Data Analytics, Management Information Systems (MIS), or Office Management preferred.
  • Task/goal oriented mindset.
  • Ability to work as part of a team to share workload and feedback ideas to improve data and process.
  • Proven time management skills and ability to work to deadlines.
  • Excellent organizational skills with ability to handle various tasks; attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, phone and verbal skills.
  • Knowledge or experience using a CRM or customer contact database such as an account, opportunity and quote management tool.
  • Salesforce, Excel or other database experience preferred, but not essential as training will be provided.

Nice to have/bonus experience:

  • Experience using SQL, SOQL, or any other querying languages
  • Desire to learn about our CRM Systems and how we use these systems to support and accelerate our business partners’ processes.
