The position

Job description

The Investor Relations Manager will report to the Director of Investor Relations and serve as an interface between Trainline and the investment community, specifically institutional investors and sell-side equity analysts, while interacting regularly with senior management (CEO, CFO, and Senior Leadership Team).

The role will be wide-ranging and diverse with consistent opportunities to stretch and develop.

Responsibilities will include:

Developing and improving investor communications

  • Prepare and manage content for investor presentations, earnings releases, annual reports and other publications, working with finance and the wider business
  • Work closely with counterparts in media and government relations in order to align external messaging
  • Manage responses to ESG related questionnaires and surveys, coordinating with constituencies across Trainline with key ambition of improving scores and ratings
  • Working with wider business to report on Greenhouse gas emissions and work with third parties to get these externally assured
  • Assume responsibility for the Investor Relations section of the Corporate website, keeping content up to date, verified and consistent with the Commercial website

Engaging with investor and sell-side analysts

  • Manage sell-side analyst consensus process, assisting analysts in their modelling, compiling estimates into the consensus model, and updating the investor website
  • Prepare institutional investor targeting and analyse shareholder register movements
  • Manage preparations for the attendance of investor conferences, roadshows and results presentations

Providing feedback loop & expertise to support business growth

  • Keep leadership team informed of market developments as well as sell-side notes on Trainline and the wider tech / travel sector
  • Prepare regular competitor analysis on peers’ results and announcements for the leadership team
  • Assist in preparation of materials for Board meetings and company strategy days
  • Lead on special projects requiring industry knowledge and awareness
  • Assist in the development of the investor relations strategy and execution of plans

Preferred experience

You will be a qualified financial professional, with great experience. You will have developed the commercial acumen required to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Candidates should have:

  • A good knowledge of the equity market and its workings
  • ACA, CIMA, ACCA, or CFA
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Intermediate proficiency in Excel, Powerpoint and ability to pick up a number of new systems, including CRMs
  • Experience interacting with institutional investors and sell-side equity analysts
  • A strong interest / curiosity in the tech and rail sectors
