Public Affairs Manager

The Purpose (of the role): 

As a Public Affairs Manager at AB InBev, the world’s largest brewer, you will play a key role in the Legal and Corporate Affairs team (LCA).

This position will focus on Corporate Affairs tasks and will require legal expertise as a support.

The Public Affairs Manager will be responsible for managing AB InBev’s relationship with institutional and political stakeholders, business federations and other influential stakeholders. You will actively support the monitoring and analysis of legal and regulatory developments in the alcohol sector. This will involve staying updated with the latest industry trends, legislative changes, and policy discussions to ensure that AB InBev remains at the forefront of compliance and industry best practices. You will also focus on supporting AB InBev’s long term priorities, commercial agenda and license to operate.

You may also be called to provide guidance across a broad spectrum of areas including retail contracts, regulatory compliance, and influencer partnerships, relying on expert colleagues.

The role:

You will integrate a team of three persons working on a broad range of topics, with the following missions:

  • Monitoring and analysis of legal and regulatory developments in the beer/alcohol sector, enabling to anticipate regulation with a negative impact on company performance and devise strategies and campaigns to mitigate those threats

  • Advocating and representing AB InBev France’s interests towards political stakeholders, government authorities, in business federations, NGO’s, etc

  • Building and protecting the interests of AB InBev France, by defining and implementing a Corporate Affairs strategy, in close collaboration with the legal, external communications, and ESG experts

  • Prepare and update corporate affairs tools: position papers, company (press) statements, fact sheets, Q&A’s, presentations, stakeholder mappings, etc.

  • Provide legal advice to the various departments, provide support to the negotiation of commercial agreements, including contracts with retailers

  • Legal positioning on new legal and regulatory texts impacting AB InBev’s activity (particularly in environmental matters), and present results to key stakeholders

  • Legal training (competition law, contract law, confidentiality, code of conduct, etc.) 

  • Compliance of the activities with the standards and legislation in force, in particular in terms of competition law, data confidentiality, fight against corruption, etc.) 

  • Contribute to the ESG agenda across France, in collaboration with the “Sustainability” team at European level

Profil recherché

Who we’re looking for:

  • You hold at minimum a master’s degree and are interested in corporate affairs, legal regulation

  • LL.M. / international experience is a plus 

  • Perfect command of French and English 

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar position within an international company or an institution

  • Sense of initiative, proactive, creative 

  • Autonomy, and ability to call for support when needed

  • Extensive analytical capabilities 

  • Team spirit

  • Resilient and able to perform in stressful situations. “Owner” mentality, driving results
