Descriptif du poste

SERVIER has an opening for an Associate Scientist in the Structural Sciences unit. This group hosts expert research teams in Structural Biology, Biophysics, Protein Sciences, and Computational Chemistry. We search a candidate to join our small Biochemistry team with the mission to produce, purify, and characterize recombinant proteins for our research programs. These protein tools will be used for applications including X-ray crystallography, Cryo-Electron microscopy (Cryo-EM), Biophysical approaches, High-Throughput Screening, or biochemical assays. The successful candidate will bring experience in developing and applying expression technologies to produce high quality protein tools for in vitro approaches. This, plus additional experience in protein purification and/ or working in an industrial setting, will help the successful candidate to contribute to investigate target engagement (for example protein:ligand interactions, PPIs, biologics) and support SBDD in a diverse portfolio of therapeutic targets (Oncology, Neuropsychiatry, Autoimmune disease).

Responsabilities :

  • As part of the Structural Sciences unit, the successful candidate will assist in delivering research-grade proteins suitable for structural biology, biophysical assays, and screening to support SERVIER in the discovery of novel therapeutic molecules.
  • In this lab-based role, the candidate will be involved in the day-to-day running of the protein production activities including optimization of production in mammalian cells, planning appropriate experiments, troubleshooting and proposition of alternatives.
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for the purification of therapeutic targets for SERVIER’s research approaches using various chromatography technologies for protein purification (affinity, ion-exchange, size exclusion, …), and contributing to protein characterization and quality-control with state-of-the-art technologies.
  • The candidate will analyze and interpret generated data, maintain accurate and complete records, and clearly communicate own or team results with internal and external stakeholders.
